Spring to summer

Sights murmur

Mystify the lingering pain

Of lovers

And the unloved alike

Soaked in the memory

Of last year’s flowers

And the lost souls.

A moment raging for cherished rebirth

Of love, time, and youth,

A song for the crazy lovebirds

Oscillating

Between

Their feverish beings

And Nature’s rioting rhythms.

Everywhere

Love surges –

Embraces sapiosexual pulls,

The Internet-induced

Platonic thoughts.

The plants steal the exotic moods

Of the animal kingdom.

Puppies wag their tails

On the temperate sidewalks

Like the freshly bathed trees

Caressing my terrace.

Love boils forever

Tides over

Pitch after pitch

Thought after thought

Oozing like cataracts

That incense lovers

Swing with kids

Wrap the grey-haired

In a nostalgic trance

Even as the middle-aged bend over –

Hamstrung in pursuit

Of their goals

And those on the margins

Still struggle for a voice

In my unequal city.
