US dominates Olympics with 46 Gold Medals, 121 tally

A glittering gathering with a riot of green and gold and samba dance all came together to say goodbye to Rio Olympics in Brazil’s bustling city, reflecting the triumph of talent and enthusiasm over odds in the run-up to the gala.

The United States dominated the Rio Olympics, topping with 46 Golds and a tally of 121 medals. Britain and China  respectively secured second and third spots.

The unleashing of talent, skill and stamina saw athletes shatter records, realize dreams and at the same time emanate the message of healthy competition for positive and constructive achievements in a spirit of togetherness to a world grappling with conflicts, corruption and xenophobia.

Appearing in his last Summer Games, sprint superhero Usain Bolt accomplished the unprecedented triple triple with Golds in 100M, 200M and 4X100 M relay events.

American swimmer Michael Phelps, gymnast Simone Biles and swimmer Katie Ledecky were among the many U.S. stars who captured glory a the Games, making the Olympics one of the most memorable sporting events for their country.
