Top Clinton aide Huma Abedin and Weiner separating

Vice chair of Hillary Campaign 2016 is of Pakistani and Indian descent

Huma Abedin, a top Pakistani and Indian origin aide to Hillary Clinton, Monday announced she is separating from her husband, Anthony D Weiner, a former Representative, following another sexting scandal.

“After long and painful consideration and work on my marriage, I have made the decision to separate from my husband. Anthony and I remain devoted to doing what is best for our son, who is the light of our life. During this difficult time, I ask for respect for our privacy,” she said in a statement.

Abedin is currently vice chair of Hillary Clinton 2016 presidential campaign.

Her husband Weiner had to resign in 2011 after it emerged he had been sending messages and photos to women online.

Abedin’s mother Saleha Mahmood Abedin, was born in Pakistan and is an academic and her father, Syed Zainal Abedin was an Indian scholar of Islamic and Middle Eastern studies.
