Charlottesville violence: White House says President Trump condemns white supremacists

Remark follow criticism that President Trump was not strong on perpetrators of violelnce

The White House on Sunday said President Donald Trump condemns all forms of violence and bigotry including white supremacists and Neo-Nazis, who have been accused of perpetrating of violence in Charlottesville, Virginia.

The statement came in response to President’s remarks on violence in Charlottesville on Saturday, which were criticized by Democratic and Republican leaders as not strong enough to denounce white nationalists’ violent protests.

“The President said very strongly in his statement yesterday that he condemns all forms of violence, bigotry, and hatred. Of course that includes white supremacists, KKK Neo-Nazi and all extremist groups. He called for national unity and bringing all Americans together,” a White House s-pokesperson said.

Trump will receive regular updates from his team about Saturday’s events in Charlottesville, which included a white nationalist’s crushing people in the crowd of counter-protesters.
