A photographer wonders if falling leaves in August signal an early fall

Aziz Ahmed takes pictures and then reflects on their meaning

What does a scene of fallen leaves in August mean?

That is what multimedia journalist Aziz Ahmed wondered when he captured a series of pictures in Arlington on a glorious summer day.

“I have never seen #Fall #Autumn in early August!” he wrote in a Facebook post.

August has been a hot month in Washington metro area.

So his picture and the seasonal time look out of step. Or perhaps they may not be.

Here is the original pictures taken by Aziz, who previously worked for Views and News and is now working with Voice of America.

He captured the scene on the eve of his birthday.
