Our experience with Nature has not been business as usual this year.
A large part of America is seized with the challenge of coronavirus outbreak. Millions of people are obeying stay-at-home instructions – adjusting life to stop spread of the disease.
Americans are also sacrificing the much-cherished sight of cherry blossoms that hold an irresistible pull for their glorious bloom.
Many would find it tempting to echo T.S. Eliot in calling April the “cruelest month.” But April is surely heralding its arrival on its own schedule and with an array of strong colors.
Nature is coming back from the fading shades of winter. It’s making it clear why the season is called a time of rebirth of flowers, leaves and hopes.
From mornings to afternoons and evenings, the month shows many of Nature’s moods and colors – a mix of cold winds and spring warmth.
On Friday, Views and News contributor David Salik captured some stunning images of the sunset from the window of his room in D.C.

The image may betray viewers for a moment.
On the first look, it appears to be a painting plastered on the interior of a room.
In reality, however, it is a far-angle look at the sunset from inside the room.
For many used to city life, the image powerfully captures how we look at and experience Nature during days of quarantine.
The images also show that Nature has a message of hope even during these bleak times – something we cannot ignore.
Let’s stay strong and look forward to good days after all the adjustments we have made to our way of life.
