Old Town Alexandria sparkles with lights to welcome 2017

Few places in Virginia are as historic and charming as Old Town Alexandria

Old Town Alexandria has certain attractions – history, harbor, architecture, brick-lined and cobblestone-strewn streets – that few places in the Metro Area can boast of. But come holidays and Alexandria multiplies its mystique and charms.

Sparkling trees on both sides of the King Street between Waterfront along the Potomac and George Washington Masonic National Memorial perched Shooter’s Hill present a glittering spectacle speaking of the liveliness of the city.

The George Washington National Memorial has captured above has been designed on the Lighthouse of ancient Egyptian city of Alexandria.

A series of shows and events were part of the 22nd Annual First Night, which drew families and friends in an enthusiastic celebration of the New Year 2017.

Fireworks on Waterfront are a special attraction.

A large lit tree outside Alexandria City Hall remained an unmissable point, especially for visitors from other cities and states.

Here are some of the photo Views and News was able to capture during a visit this week.
