Mehwish has starred in several productions including Jawani Phir Nai Ani, Actor In LawPunjab Nai Jaung and Chhalawa.

On several occasions, she has expressed her desire to present the true image of Pakistan and has taken swipe at portrayals of Muslims in a negative light as fueling Islamophobia.

“What I was saying is how we need to be working as artists. We carry tremendous responsibility on our shoulders. We should be the people building bridges and be as torchbearers of peace,”  Mehwish told BBC last year.
