The only rule of Love, a poem by Ali Imran

Let's not spell out any more rules...Read More

Oh Love, let’s not spell out

any more rules of love

between us

for you have filled me

with endless joy

and lit up a thousand suns

of hope and light

to nourish my soul

in the empty starving hours.

The only rule

that rules my heart now

is your pure heart.

How sweetly it pours forth love

like some rarified rhymes

performed on Rubab’s seamless cadence

that keeps digital hedonism at bay,

quells fears of climatic knells

and fuses the disconnects

whirling me into an embrace of

the self-fulfilling moments  –

an absolute surrender

to love

and self-discovery

at once –

beyond any chase

or wild escape.
